Ing. Vladimír Menčík

Ing. Vladimír Menčík has spent 33 years of his professional life in the insurance industry, especially in risk management.

He graduated from the Czech Technical University (CTU) - Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEL) - Electrical Drives and Power Electronics - Electrical Engineer (Ing.). He has worked in the insurance industry since 1992, both for insurance companies (Česká pojišt'ovna - Generali, Allianz, Kooperativa) and brokerage firms (Marsh, GrECo). For the last almost 20 years (from 1 September 2005 to 31 December 2024) he worked at Kooperativa pojišt'ovna, a.s., Vienna Insurance Group, Prague as a risk management specialist. He was responsible for risk surveys of mainly commercial risks, both general with a focus on fire and natural risks, as well as specialised ones focused on theft risk and preparation of relevant reports including determination of MPL and risk assessment, recommendations and possible proposals for deviating contractual arrangements - both locally and for international partners. Furthermore, he was responsible for the development of company materials, especially for theft risk insurance, as well as electrical issues for photovoltaic power plant insurance, lightning and surge protection in general in relation to fire and electronic risk cover, machinery insurance, especially for larger machinery units in the energy sector and the necessary prerequisites for offering such cover and cooperation on similar materials in the Czech Insurance Association, in its Permanent Working Group on Alienation; training of co-workers as required by the employer.

Serving as an independent, stand-alone risk engineer since January 1, 2025.

Vladimír Menčík is married and has 2 adult daughters (Jaroslava and Pavla) with his wife Ladislava. His hobbies include amateur accordion playing including singing, hiking, numismatics and notaphilia.
